Corporate Friends

Thank you for your support of Crisis. Our Corporate Friends play a vital role in supporting our work.

We’ve gathered a selection of links and materials to enable you to fundraise, engage your colleagues and spread the word about Crisis' vital work throughout the year.

Whether you want to get involved through volunteering, making a corporate donation or getting stuck into a physical challenge, there’s something for everyone below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Depending on availability it’s possible to visit one of our Skylights for an organised tour, our Skylights are working buildings for members. We always prioritise the needs of our members so it may not be possible to access the building at all times and tours must be pre-arranged. Please arrange a tour by emailing corporatepartnerships@crisis.org.uk.

Depending on what you want to include in your press release, we may be able to provide a personalised quote from a member of our team or our Senior Leadership Team. Please email corporatepartnerships@crisis.org.uk as soon as possible with your draft press release and allow at least five working days for approval.

In addition to fundraising, we gratefully receive donations of items both as corporate gifts and through employee-led collections. Please email corporatepartnerships@crisis.org.uk with your rough plans before starting your collection, so we can cross-check and ensure we are able to accept the items you are collecting and confirm delivery details.

We often need items across the country and are especially in need of items for our Christmas guests in London.

We don't currently have volunteer opportunities available for large groups (exceeding 15 people). Our Shops From Crisis offer the best group volunteering opportunities as your team can be split up into smaller groups and volunteer across several sites or days in one week. Please contact corporatepartnerships@crisis.org.uk to discuss upcoming opportunities.

69p of every £1 raised goes to delivering our front-line services. Crisis receives the majority of our fundraised income from individuals, companies and trusts and, unlike many other charities within the homelessness sector, has little reliance on statutory income. This gives us financial resilience and enables us to speak for people experiencing homelessness from a position of independence. It does, however, necessitate significant investment in fundraising to ensure that we have a platform of sustainable income streams to continue to meet the demand for our services.

The majority of the money Crisis raises is ‘unrestricted’, this means it goes in a general Crisis ‘pot’ and can be spent on any part of our organisation and the work we do, in line with our aims and objectives.

This type of funding allows us to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of our members and to ensure our specialist services can continue for years to come. Some of the money we raise is ‘restricted’, this means that the funder (person or organisation giving the money) is interested in a particular area of our work, wants to allocate their money specifically to that area and hear about the impact that it has on ending homelessness.

These funds cannot be used for any other purpose other than the one chosen by the funder and are usually agreed through a formal contract. We have a wide range or restricted funding opportunities available for those organisations able to make donations of over £30,000, this type of funding can be agreed at the outset of the partnership of before a specific gift is made.
