Client services
Services provided:-
The independent living service prevents homelessness by providing floating support in the homes of clients who live in the local community. They may be threatened with homelessness or need support to develop the skills to live independently and sustain a tenancy.
There are three levels of support available; these can be used separately or in combination with each other
Crisis
This can be initiated at any point and sparks up to 4 weeks of intervention to prevent homelessness, use of restorative justice principals for antisocial behaviour or to resolve neighbour issues at the earliest stages.
Resettlement
This provides up to 12 weeks of seamless transition for accommodation based clients into more independent accommodation eg YMCA’s move on flats, our leased shared flats and support into own flats.
Sustain
This provides up to 6 months of longer term tenancy related support with access to the YMCA engagement packages. Signposting to a wide range of agencies and support.
We have a team of five Independent Living Coaches who agree support plans with each client that outline the steps needed to sustain or develop independent living skills.
