Project summary

Run by Adullam Homes, "Private Sector Housing" has been set up in partnership with Derbyshire Dales DC, High Peak BC and Staffordshire Moorlands DC to help meet housing need across the area.  This includes a Bond Scheme (High Peak & Staffordshire Moorlands) and Tenancy support (Derbyshire Dales)

Clients

Who is eligible?

• Over 18 and accepted as homeless or threatened with homelessness (Staffordshire Moorlands)
• Over 18, single, couple and families (High Peak)
• Willing to accept support to help maintain the tenancy 
• Able to afford the property 
• Willing to save the cash deposit during the 18 months 
• Currently living in the Staffordshire moorlands  
• Not an existing Housing Association tenant

• Practical support for tenants (e.g. advice on setting up tenancy/deposit)
• Property inspection
• Referral to support services
• Assistance with finding properties in the PRS
• Assessment of client needs
• Assistance with application for community care grants and budgeting loans
• Referrals to funiture projects
• Signposting for education, volunteering and employment opportunities
• Relevant certificates obtained before tenancy (Gas Safety Certificate etc)
• Tenancy support service

Assistance in acquiring a property, tenancy support, and referrals to support services

How are referrals made

Via the Homeless Prevention Teams who provide the homeless service on behalf of the council. Adullam administer the scheme which is funded from the homeless prevention grant.
