Volunteers needed to help end rough sleeping in London

A group of local and national charities are looking for volunteers to help with a major survey of rough sleepers in Westminster during the week commencing 10 July.

Organised by Westminster Homeless Action Together, the survey is part of an innovative new project being trialled in cities across Europe aimed at putting an end to street homelessness once and for all.

European End Street Homelessness Campaign

WHAT is looking to recruit and train more than 200 volunteers who live or work in London to help gather vital information about the nature and scale of street homelessness in Westminster.

Official figures show that the number of people sleeping rough in England has more than doubled since 2010, with 7,581 people sleeping rough at some point in London during 2014/15 - a rise of 16% compared to the previous year.
