Volunteering and Lived Experience Transformation
27.02.2025
Crisis’ ambitious new 10 year strategy and mission to end homelessness will be successful if our volunteers and experts with lived experience of homelessness are able to play a central role in what we do!
Knowing this, we’ve just launched a project to transform volunteering so that we are better equipped to end homelessness.
We’re keen to make this transformational project look and feel different to the way we usually do things. The project steering group includes volunteers and people with lived experience of homelessness. We’ll also be working with Lucent Consulting, an agency experienced in helping organisations make meaningful impact and change.
The project will move through four phases: Discover, Focus, Develop and Decide.
Kick-started by one-to-one conversations which have already begun, and discovery workshops taking place in the spring.
Success depends on hearing the views of volunteers like you.
We’re looking forward to working with volunteers on this project and can’t wait to hear your thoughts and ideas from the workshops we’re running.
Through the project’s lifecycle there will be opportunities to get involved; hearing from project leads, taking part in workshops, sharing your ideas, and helping co-create elements of the final plan.
If you have any immediate suggestions about how you’d like to engage with the project, please get in touch with Michael Philips, Head of Volunteering.
We’d also like to invite you to join us for one of our Q&A sessions, where you’ll get the opportunity to hear more about the project and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Together we can make this process inclusive and participatory, as well as fun, engaging and creative!'
