Stephen's story

"After donating to Crisis for a while, I started volunteering one Christmas Day and Boxing Day at the Pimlico Centre. I felt really supported and enjoyed it, so I approached Crisis and now do a weekly shift in the eCommerce warehouse.

"There’s a complete cross-section of people here, but everyone is so welcoming and nothing’s too much trouble. There’s always time to talk about how you’re getting on, so there’s a friendly feeling. I love clothes as well, so it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

"When you’ve volunteered with people who benefit from Crisis, you also feel a genuine connection between what the charity is trying to do, and where the money goes ultimately.

"New volunteers can expect a lot of TLC. You’re not thrown in at the deep end – people keep talking to you and making sure you’re OK."

By sharing stories we can change attitudes and build a movement for permanent, positive change. Stand against homelessness and help us end it for good.
