Having a haircut is a soothing and empowering experience that everyone should be able to enjoy. Due to the rising cost of rent, food and fuel through the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, many people across Great Britain are feeling the strain and stress of financial pressure, and may be foregoing a trip to their local salon as a result.
At Crisis, we know that the personal care and refreshed feeling of a haircut can give people on low incomes, or experiencing homelessness, much needed respite amidst difficult circumstances. For this reason, we have partnered with HARI's hair salon and Wella to provide free haircuts and products to people experiencing homelessness.
In March, 2024, the wonderful hair stylists at HARI's Northcote Road salon offered free hair appointments to members of Crisis Skylight support centres in Shoreditch and Croydon, whilst Wella provided gifts of shampoo, conditioner and hair masks for our members to take away with them.
Our members were left feeling revitalised, seen and valued - we are so grateful to everyone at HARI's and Wella for giving this gift of confidence to people experiencing homelessness.
Thank you for standing side by side with Crisis.
