Crisis Homelessness Awareness Training

Since the start of the current pandemic, we’ve never had a better understanding of the importance of having a home and the reasons why it should be available to all.

Together, we’ve supported people who are homeless throughout the outbreak, and we’ve also seen individuals, government and industry work together to achieve extraordinary things – like finding temporary housing for thousands in the span of a few weeks.

We know we can end homelessness, but only if we work together to make it happen. There are differences that we can all make every day – whether big or small, and that’s why it’s so important to make sure our supporters have the knowledge and resources they need to help end homelessness.

Last month, we delivered our first ever training course for corporate partners, aimed at helping employees gain a deeper understanding of homelessness, how we can end it and the everyday differences we can make.

Split across three sessions, Crisis Homelessness Awareness Training (CHAT) addressed key questions around homelessness and gave attendees the opportunity to hear from Crisis experts as well as people with lived experience of homelessness.

Attendees were able to build on what they learnt in each session through simple and achievable tasks, as well as connect with other colleagues and organisations who support Crisis. Everyone who completed the training received a practical toolkit and invitation to join our online community in order to stay informed, inspired and empowered to help us make homelessness a thing of the past.

We would like to say a huge thank you to attendees from partner organisations including: Cisco, GSK, Hush, JLL, JTI, Oak Foundation, People's Postcode Lottery, PwC, QBE, SKY, Taylor Wimpey, Tesco Mobile, The Berkeley Foundation, Vida Homeloans and the Wimbledon Foundation.
