Project summary

Financial help with renting privately through our Private Sector Lettings (PSL) scheme. The PSL scheme helps people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, on a low income or benefits and have a local connection to the Sevenoaks District

Clients

Who is eligible?

This scheme provides financial assistance to help those threatened with homelessness who have a connection to the Sevenoaks District and are on a low income or welfare benefits to secure a private let.

Client services

• Referral to support services
• Practical support for tenants (e.g. advice on setting up tenancy/deposit)
• Housing Benefit assistance
• Rent in advance
• Bond Guarantees
• Assessment of client needs

Sevenoaks Private Sector Lettings Scheme also provides a service called "Flying Start "(tenancy sustainment scheme).

How are referrals made

You can get immediate advice during office hours by telephoning the Duty Officer in the Housing Advice Team or by e-mailing housing@sevenoaks.gov.uk .The Housing Advice Team also offer face to face appointments to discuss problems.
