Herefordshire Council - Council Rent and Bond Scheme
Project summary
Herefordshire Council will advise and try to assist anyone who is homeless or threatened with homelessness. The council may be able to assist with a Deposit Bond, or rent in advance depending on funds and circumstances.
Clients
Who is eligible?
In order to qualify the following criteria applies:-
- Must be homeless or threatened with homelessness
- Must have a residential connection to Herefordshire.
- Must not owe any monies to Herefordshire Council in terms of previous loans, Housing benefit over-payments or Council Tax arrears.
- Must be applying to move to a property that the Council deems affordably sustainable.
- Must not have already signed a tenancy agreement.

How are referrals made
Applications for the Bond Scheme must be made through the triage system for Housing Solutions at Blueschool House, Hereford - see contact details.
The Housing Solutions Triage Officers will make an assessment of housing need, and a Personal Housing Plan will be drawn up and agreed. The scheme takes some time to administer, and applicants are urged to register prior to finding a property, so that assessments can be made in advance.
