Project summary
The Exeter Renting Support Services (ERSS) opened in Spring 2015. Clients are offered support to secure private rented accommodation, via referrals from Exeter City Council and supported housing providers.
Clients
Who is eligible?
Eligibility criteria are as follows, you must be:- *Homeless or facing homelessness? *On a low income or in receipt of benefits? *Local to the Exeter area? *A good tenant, with no history of rent arrears, nuisance or of damaging property? *Happy to explor
Client services
- Relevant certificates obtained before tenancy (Gas Safety Certificate etc)
- Assistance with finding properties in the PRS
- Tenancy support service
- Referral to support services
- Property inspection
- Practical support for tenants (e.g. advice on setting up tenancy/deposit)
- Housing Benefit assistance
- Assessment of client needs
How are referrals made
Referral is made at the Civic Centre by the housing options team.
