75 ways to prevent homelessness

About the guide
75 ways to prevent homelessness is a collection of practical examples to share, inspire and add to.
With examples of homelessness prevention from Scotland and beyond, we hope this resource serves as a library that you can return to.
It is designed to inspire practitioners, legislators, commissioners, service designers and funders.
Add your example
An intervention included here doesn’t mean it’s the only, or best, example of its type. If you have an example of an intervention you would like to add, please get in touch at bestpractice@crisis.org.uk
Background to this resource
In 2019, the Scottish Government asked Crisis to convene the Prevention Review Group (PRG) and develop recommendations for new legal duties to prevent homelessness.
The idea for this resource arose during PRG stakeholder meetings. We heard from many organisations already preventing homelessness. Given that changes to the law are likely to take several years, this resource should help frontline practice anticipate and inform the future direction of legislation.
Launch event - 15 August 2022, Glasgow
