Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choose Crisis to receive wedding donations

Today, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that Crisis will be one of seven charities personally chosen by the couple to benefit from donations in lieu of wedding gifts for their upcoming nuptials.

The funds raised will help Crisis in its work to help people directly out of homelessness, and to campaign to end it once and for all.

In response to the news, Jon Sparkes, Chief Executive of Crisis, said:

“We are hugely grateful that Prince Harry and Ms Markle are asking the public to support Crisis as they celebrate their wedding. Homelessness is one of the most urgent issues of our time, but at Crisis we know what it takes to end it.

“Donations will help us to support more people to leave homelessness behind through our housing, employment, education and advice services across the country, and to campaign for the changes needed to solve the homelessness crisis once and for all.”

Anyone wishing to donate to Crisis can do so here.

About Crisis

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We help people directly out of homelessness, and campaign for the social changes needed to solve it altogether. We know that together we can end homelessness.

Every year we work side by side with thousands of people, to help them rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind for good. We do this through education, training and support with housing, employment and health. We offer one to one support, advice, and courses for homeless people through our 11 centres across England, Scotland and Wales.

Through our pioneering research, we know what it will take to end homelessness. Together with others who share our resolve, we bring our knowledge, experience and determination to campaign for the changes that will solve the homelessness crisis once and for all.

We know that homelessness is not inevitable. Ending it for good won’t be easy. But with your support we know that together, we can do it.
