Homelessness Alliance: A National Movement Gathers Momentum

Over the past year, the Homelessness Alliance has grown into a powerful movement of employers coming together to help prevent and end homelessness in the UK. We’re proud to share that 58 employers, including the likes of Amazon, have now pledged their support to the Alliance — taking real action to create inclusive workplaces and change lives.

Through our employment partnership with Hays Recruitment and EveryYouth, we’ve already placed seven people into work with four of our committed Allies. These are individuals who faced barriers due to homelessness and are now in roles where they can thrive — proof that change is not only possible, but already happening.

Beyond employment, our Allies have helped raise nearly £15,000 through workplace giving, showing that their commitment goes beyond words — they’re putting their values into action.

What’s next?

2025 is set to be a big year. We’ll be delivering training to Amazon on their Jobs Project, a collaboration with their partner Barnardo’s that supports young people into work. And we’re launching two 12-month pilots in Hastings and Newcastle, designed to challenge public perceptions of homelessness, raise awareness locally, and engage businesses in meaningful action.

These pilots will support local employers to:

  • Understand what homelessness looks like in their community
  • Raise awareness and funds
  • Review internal policies and practices
  • Offer training and employment opportunities

By working both in and outside of Skylight locations, we’re showing how the Homelessness Alliance can be delivered anywhere — laying the groundwork for a scalable blueprint that can be replicated in communities across the UK.

This is what systemic change looks like — and we’re just getting started.

If you’d like to hear more or get involved in the Alliance, drop us a message.
