Set up and Maintenance Volunteer

This role is now full.

About Crisis at Christmas

Christmas can be very challenging, but particularly for people who do not have a place that they can call home. We mobilise a huge volunteer effort to bring warmth, companionship, and vital services to people at one of the hardest times of the year. We help people take their first steps out of homelessness, offering Crisis’ year-round support and training to help them leave homelessness behind for good.

  • Working alongside other volunteers to set up and shut down the centres
  • You will also be heading out on call to our centres to deal with basic building maintenance and repairs
  • The role is very varied, and tasks could include building, fixing, evaluating damage and general light handywork
  • This role will be based from our Christmas Warehouse in Canning Town
  • The service will run from Wednesday 22nd December to Sunday 5th January. (It is likely there will also be shifts available before the Christmas week.) Our busiest period will be 23rd to 29th December, as this is when all four of our Day Centres are open, in addition to all three of our Hotels.
