We are the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We help people out of homelessness and campaign for the changes needed to solve it altogether.
All of us need a decent home – to be healthy and to thrive. Currently though, this basic human need isn’t being met for so many people across the UK. This is unacceptable.
At Crisis we work side by side with thousands of people each year as they find ways out of homelessness. We provide practical support to help people access benefits, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and more.
Our main aim is to relieve the huge pressure of homelessness, by helping people find safe and affordable homes as quickly as possible.
We prioritise supporting people who are facing the most complex barriers to ending their homelessness and often have nowhere else to turn. As well as helping to end homelessness for individuals, we work to address the root causes that push people into homelessness in the first place.
We campaign on the political changes needed to end homelessness for good and conduct research to understand and highlight the scale, causes and consequences of homelessness.
It’s a scandal that people are homeless. Every day it’s destroying lives in our communities. But we can solve it. By working together, we can create a stronger society for us all.
We work all across Great Britain, with Skylight centres and Shops dotted across England, Scotland and Wales.
In 1967 a network of politicians and activists mobilised to tackle homelessness in London. Together, they formed Crisis.
Since then our charity has changed with the times. Yet one thing remains the same: our determination to end homelessness.
It’s a scandal that the problem is still with us. But together, we know we can end it.
We are all committed to ensuring person experiencing homelessness has the support and opportunities they need to fulfil their potential. Everyone who works at Crisis is joined in the belief that we can end homelessness. If you share our passion to end homelessness and want to be part of the change, have a look at our current vacancies.
